Betty AI
Betty is Better Email's AI assistant. She can help both marketers building campaigns and design system authors working on the system behind those campaigns.
Betty is most useful when the underlying design system is already well designed. The stronger the design system, the better the AI output tends to be.
What Betty is good at
Betty works best when you want help with:
- drafting and rewriting content
- adapting content to the modules available in a design system
- improving structure and polish
- working faster inside an established design system
- making changes directly in the editor instead of only giving advice
How Betty gets context
When Betty helps inside Better Email, she works from four main sources of context:
- the current campaign or design system
- your organization's tone of voice
- your organization's Betty skills
- the design system's and modules' AI metadata
Those layers do different jobs:
- the current campaign or design system gives Betty the live task and structure
- tone of voice shapes how she writes
- skills give her reusable organization-specific workflows
- AI metadata teaches her how to use your design system well
Better results usually come from using these together instead of expecting one field to do everything.
Visual context
Betty can inspect screenshots of the campaign or design system preview when visual context matters. This helps her review layout, spacing, hierarchy, image crops, and mobile behavior instead of relying only on the underlying settings and code.
You do not need to take or upload the screenshot yourself. Ask Betty for visual feedback, design review, or mobile checks, and she can use the current preview as part of her context.
Screenshots help Betty see what is on the page, but they do not replace guidance such as tone of voice, skills, and AI metadata. For example, Betty may see that a module looks like a button, but AI metadata can still explain that the button downloads a calendar invite rather than linking to a webpage.
Where Betty helps
Betty works in two main contexts inside Better Email:
- Campaign Builder: helping marketers create, update, review, and improve a specific campaign
- Design system development: helping design system authors work on modules, settings, metadata, and code in the Design System Editor
Use the pages in this section depending on which job you are doing.
