Miro

Connect Miro and you can point Betty at a Miro board while you chat with her about a Campaign. Betty reads the board's frames, sticky notes, and docs and builds the Campaign from the brief your team already mapped out there. When it's done, she can post the Campaign back to the board.

By default, Betty only reads Miro. The one exception is sharing a Campaign to a board, which she does only when you ask. An admin can allow more of Miro's tools, including ones that change boards (see Choose which tools Betty may use).

If you don't see Miro under Settings, then Betty AI, then Connectors, it isn't turned on for your Organization yet. Contact us to enable it.

Before you start

You will need:

  • an admin user in Better Email
  • a Miro account that can open the boards you want Betty to read

Connect Miro

  1. Open Settings, choose Betty AI, then Connectors.
  2. Click Connect next to Miro.
  3. Miro asks you to allow access to your account. Allow it.

You're returned to Connectors, and Miro shows as connected.

Betty reads Miro as the person who connected it. She can open any board that person can open, and nothing else. Connecting authorizes Miro for everyone in your Organization: anyone who chats with Betty can ask her to read those boards.

Everyone in the Organization can see the connection's status. Only admins can connect, reconnect, or disconnect it.

Build a Campaign from a Miro board

  1. In Miro, copy the board's link from the address bar or the Share button.
  2. In Better Email, open Betty's chat from a Workspace or a Campaign.
  3. Paste the link with a short prompt, for example: "Build a Campaign from the brief on this board."

If you don't have the link, give Betty the board's name and she looks it up.

Betty first gets an overview of the board, then reads the frames, sticky notes, and docs that matter. If one point is unclear, she asks about it. Then she builds the Campaign as she would from a written brief.

Betty treats the board as material to work from. She won't follow instructions written on the board itself.

Share a Campaign to a Miro board

After building a Campaign from a Miro board, Betty offers to share it back. She only shares when you ask her to or accept the offer.

Betty adds one frame to the board, to the right of what's already there. It shows the Campaign's name, folder, Design System, and language, a thumbnail when one is available, and an Open in Better Email button.

You need permission to edit the Campaign to share it.

Choose which tools Betty may use

Open Miro under Settings, then Betty AI, then Connectors. The Tool permissions card lists the tools Miro offers, grouped into Read-only tools, Write tools, and Other. The list appears after the first chat that uses Miro.

By default:

  • Read-only tools are allowed, except a few that are costly, such as ones that use Miro's own AI credits or return more than a chat can carry.
  • Write tools are blocked. Betty can still share a Campaign to a board, because that is her own action and doesn't use Miro's write tools.

Admins can set a whole group to Allow all or Block all, or allow and block single tools. Hover over a blocked tool to see why it is off by default.

Reconnect or disconnect

If Miro's authorization expires or is revoked, the Miro row shows Needs reconnecting. Click Reconnect and allow access again.

Trouble reaching means Better Email couldn't reach Miro for a moment. It usually clears by itself the next time Betty uses Miro.

To disconnect, open Miro and click Disconnect. Betty loses access to Miro for everyone in the Organization, and the authorization is revoked at Miro. To reconnect, go through Miro's consent screen again.

Troubleshooting

  • Betty says Miro isn't available. Check that Miro shows as connected under Connectors. Betty only uses Miro in a Workspace or Campaign chat.
  • Betty can't open a board. The person who connected Miro can't open that board. Share the board with them in Miro, or reconnect Miro with an account that can open it.
  • Betty says the board link is wrong. Use a link of the form https://miro.com/app/board/....
  • Betty can't share the Campaign. You need edit permission on the Campaign.
  • Miro stops answering partway through the day. Miro limits how many API requests an account gets a day, depending on its plan. Try again later.
