Sailthru integration

This guide walks you through connecting Sailthru (Marigold Engage) to Better Email and exporting templates into Sailthru.

Before you start​

To connect Sailthru, you will need:

  • a Sailthru account with access to API credentials
  • an API key and API secret
  • an admin user in Better Email who can create and edit integrations

1. Copy the API credentials from Sailthru​

In Sailthru, go to Settings -> API & Postbacks, then copy:

  • API Key
  • API Secret

2. Set up the integration in Better Email​

In Better Email:

  1. Go to Integrations.
  2. Create a new integration.
  3. Enter a clear name for the integration.
  4. Choose Sailthru (Marigold Engage) as the type.
  5. Optional: under Access, restrict the integration to specific users or groups.
  6. Save the integration.
  7. Enter the API Key and API Secret.
  8. Enable the integration.
  9. Save the integration again.

3. Export to Sailthru​

Once the integration is active, Better Email exports the rendered HTML into Sailthru as a template.

Important to know:

  • Better Email labels exported templates with better-email.
  • Export uses the email name as the Sailthru template name.
  • Merge tags and segmentation are rendered using the syntax configured for this integration.

Troubleshooting​

If export fails, check:

  • the API key and API secret are both correct
  • the integration is enabled in Better Email
  • the right users or groups have access to the integration
