Review and approvals

Better Email includes a structured review workflow so teams can give feedback, track approvals, and keep an audit trail of what changed.

What the workflow supports

Review rounds can include:

  • assigned reviewers
  • threaded comments
  • anchored comments tied to specific parts of the email
  • approvals per reviewer
  • resolved and unresolved comment tracking

This is useful when several people need to sign off on the same campaign.

Typical workflow

  1. Build the email in the editor.
  2. Start a review round.
  3. Add the reviewers who should sign off.
  4. Leave comments and resolve feedback.
  5. Close the round once the email is approved or intentionally moved forward.

Comments

Comments are designed to stay tied to the actual work. Depending on the context, comments can be anchored to the header, a specific module, or the footer of the email.

Teams can also reply in threads so feedback stays organized.

TODO: Add a screenshot of an open review round with reviewers, comments, and approval state visible.

Approvals

Each reviewer can approve the round. This makes it easier to see whether the email is truly ready or still waiting on someone.

Review rounds can also be closed without full approval when needed, which is helpful for urgent changes or workflow exceptions.

TODO: Add a short video showing a review round from comment creation to approval.

Why this matters

Without a structured review flow, feedback often ends up in scattered chat threads or screenshots with no clear history. Better Email keeps the conversation connected to the actual email and revision state.
