Safer Design System Releases and Cleaner Exports

This week adds safer Design System testing, restores reliable PDF and PNG downloads, and improves Braze and link-tagging export checks.

Test Design System changes before publishing​

Admins and designers can now stage a full Design System version, or selected Modules, as a Candidate before publishing it Live. Existing Live Campaigns keep using the current Live Design System until the Candidate is published.

The Design System timeline now keeps Draft, Candidate, and Live history in one place. Teams can review what changed, open version history, and read publish comments on Live releases without leaving the editor.

Campaign teams can preview Candidate changes against an existing Live Campaign without changing the original. The preview is read-only, clearly labeled, and can be cloned when a designer wants to continue testing with Candidate content.

When Candidate testing is disabled, admins can publish Draft Design System changes directly to Live, including unpublished changes in the same create-and-publish flow.

Cleaner exports and previews​

Desktop PDF and PNG downloads that could stay stuck on "Generating..." now complete again or show an error. Teams can tell whether to retry or contact support before relying on the file for review or handoff.

PDF and PNG exports now include supported registered brand fonts more reliably, so downloaded Campaign layouts stay closer to the email your team reviewed.

Marketers can now open the Performance tab before a Campaign's first send to preview report sections and click maps. The sample report is clearly labeled and uses the Campaign's own links, so the report layout is visible before synced performance data arrives.

Improvements​

  • Braze exports now send the reviewed Campaign subject line and preheader into Braze's native fields instead of requiring manual entry after export.
  • Required Campaign link-tagging fields now appear in Global settings and the validation summary before export, so admins can fill tracking values before publishing or downloading HTML.

Fixes​

  • Braze segment exports now keep the recipient-field logic configured in Better Email, including country-based rules and exclusions.
  • Deleting a newly added variant while editing segment rules no longer crashes the Campaign Editor.
